FSSAI Registration for Food Manufacturers

Introduction

Every food business operator who engages in the production, handling, distribution, and sale of food products is required to obtain an FSSAI Registration or License.

According to the size and nature of the business, FBO should obtain the appropriate registration or license, which is where FSSAI Registration differs from FSSAI License.

All food packages have a 14-digit registration or licensing number written on them. Information regarding the producer’s permission and the assembly state is provided via the 14-digit registration number. The registration process aims to increase accountability on the part of the FBO to uphold the standard of food goods. The Food Safety & Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Business) Regulations, 2011, govern the licensing and registration process

Basic FSSAI Registration?

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is an independent agency created by the Indian government’s Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, a consolidated act about food safety and regulation in India, is what gave rise to the establishment of the FSSAI. It is a body that oversees and controls the Indian food industry. By policing and overseeing food safety, FSSAI License is in charge of defending and advancing public health.

Before beginning a food company, you must get an FSSAI License or register with the organization. Obtaining a 14-digit registration number or food license number, which must be printed on food packages or displayed on-premises, is required for all food-related businesses, including manufacturers, traders, restaurants, small eateries, grocery stores, importers, exporters, home-based food businesses, dairy farms, processors, retailers, and e-tailers. This 14-digit FSSAI license number provides information on the producer’s enrollment or permit specifics as well as the state where the assembly is taking place.
